Claire Hamilton BMus (Hons) PGCE LTCL

 

Claire Hamilton studied Music at The Queen's University, Belfast graduating in 2002. She studied voice with Irene Sandford and achieved both Associate Diploma in Voice and Licentiate Diploma in Voice Performance through Trinity College London. Claire began her teaching career in Dominican College Portstewart where she taught singing and piano before completing a PGCE at the University of Ulster, Coleraine.

On completion of her education training training qualification Claire took up a permanent teaching post at Our Lady and St Patrick's College Knock where she has remained for 11 years having established a female chamber choir (Éan Ceoil) and Barbershop Quartet among other choirs and choral ensembles.

 

Claire is a seasoned songwriter having collaborated with many international songwriters including Chris Eaton, Marc James, Ben Cantelon, Johnny Parks and many more. She has travelled internationally as a singer and worship leader. She released her first solo album as a signed artist to Kingsway/Integrity in 2011.
 

Throughout her career as a music teacher Claire has taken a career break to perform nationally and internationally, writing in Nashville, California and England. She has toured extensively with a variety of artists as both lead singer and backing vocalist. She is very proud of her involvement with local artist Brian Houston and is passionate about being in bands and performing live.
 

Claire is a true 'people person' and excited to develop musicians in the gifting and talent they have been given.
 

Claire began teaching students at Stormont School of Singing in September 2015. The School is delighted to have her join the Teaching Team.
